The new Menu for Lulu ICC & Garden Hotels, Thrissur, Kerala is a brand new concept in Menu designing. The beige and ivory colour combination with very few illustrations of dishes that too in line art is a stand out in the usual menu designs. The Title page is made of hard board and matte laminated in wedding album style. It has a window in the centre with golden borders and inside the letters menu is printed in gold foil. The outer fringes are laser cut and gives the menu a posh and exclusive look. The inner pages are in 300 gsm art card and also matte laminated.

Mis representations and Mistakes in Graphic Designs for Ayurveda

If you visit Dr. Deepak Chopra M. D.'s The Chopra Centre website, you can see this picture on the home page showing Cardamom, Cinnamon, Star Anise and Turmeric powder which are basically Indian Spices. The Title says: What is Ayurveda ? He speaks of Ayurveda with great pride and illustrates it with images which are no where near its core elements. The Web Designer / Graphic Designer thinks that these Spices have vibrant colours and visual beauty to attract the visitors. The Lotus motif on the Logo is also an example of an object which is least connected to Ayurveda. The people from Western Countries believe that Lotus, Frankipani, Yoga and massage especially girls scantily clad are all the top representations of Ayurveda. The Graphic design community and to some extent, the client; in this case Dr. Deepak Chopra is trying to portray a wrong picture of Ayurveda through these kind of illustrations.
