Late Vazhappilly Ittiachen, the founder of Merlin Group, Thrissur was a man with a simple lifestyle although he could easily afford a luxurious living anywhere in the world. He would prefer Kanji, Manthal Varuthuthu, Chammanthy etc. for his breakfast. When his family members planned his 43rd day of demise, they included the same menu along with a sumptuous lunch complete with Thrissur Catholic style Pork & Koorkka, Beef, Seer Fish and Prawns. A lot of people from various walks of life attended the function and they all appreciated the day's special. Kumbalanga with Kozhi Thrissur style was also another menu item which went very well with the guests at Hotel Merlin International, Thrissur.
