2012 ONAM RAMZAN Shopping festival in Kerala
2012 is a special year for all kinds of Businesses in Kerala. This year Onam and Ramzan are falling very closely and the shops are advertising over the board to attract Hindu and Muslim population. The great surprise is while every business house especially Textile and Jewellery groups along with others are competing to send out the combined Onam Ramzan greetings, the newly opened EMKE silks in Thrissur owned by a Muslim did not mention about RAMZAN in their ads anywhere. They say Onam greetings to all. This is evident in Vanitha magazine and News paper ads.

EMKE Silks in Thrissur
Thrissur is getting yet another big shop for Fabrics and Ready mades. EMKE Silks have opened their biggest showroom in Thrissur with around 1,60,000 sq. ft. of shopping area. This will hit the sales of newly opened Jayalakshmi, Kalyan Sarees and the old players Kalyan Silks, Pulimoottil and Immanuvel. The Muslim customers who are majority in all these other shops will now prefer to go to EMKE owned by a Muslim. This will prompt the others to heat up the competition by giving discounts and shouting Adi Sale, Moonsoon Mega Discount Sale, NRI Fest and the up coming Onam Shopping season will tell who is the clear winner and the runner up in Thrissur.

OOH Designs for Jayalakshmi Silks Thrissur
Finally OOH Designs are in Thrissur with Jayalakshmi bringing our some Flex Hoardings and Bus Stop Shelters in which the Models Head is protruding out of the Flex 1 or 2 feet. Just a simple design. The Saree in a circular pattern is also projected some inches up from the Flex base. OOH which was introduced in India perhaps a decade ago took so much time to hit Thrissur. Creative juices are yet to flow on the OOH front in Thrissur.

The competition in Advt. business is hot these days. Well established Ad agencies are seeing new players with good talent stealing a good chunk of their business overnight. Several new names are seen in Kochi and other parts. Clients are also trying to experiment this new agencies for a better deal and security of their account. No monopoly possible these days. An agency called "Very local" is seen handling the account of Jayalakshmi along with Team One. V - Guard also changed Guard with long term AOR Media Mate opening its doors to new players as well.

Internet and Mobile Browsing for Services on the Rise
People using Internet and Mobile for searching services they require are increasing day by day. Keralites and Thrissurites are calling me on a daily basis for Design related services. This is a good sign for those who have Websites and Blogs and listings on Yellow Pages and other Trading Sites like India Mart etc.
The recent flooding of Smart Phones, Tablets, Fast Internet on Mobiles and Laptops are enabling people to browse for what they are looking for and send an e-mail inquiry or call directly the Service Provider. People were reluctant and they still are to look in the Internet for a Service. They will rather look in the Telephone directory or Yellow pages.
But now there are signs of change...!!

Thrissur Kuri Companies
Thrissur based Kuri Companies are on a Roll these days. They are the new kids on the Advt. spending block. Big time on Print and TV as well. Giving full page colour and centre spread advt. in Newspapers, Vanitha, Veedu, Grihalakshmi and other mags. Trying out all soughts of captions to pin down the customers. Some funny and weird like " No need to pay the Kuri instalment if the customer dies" How is that ??
Another captions goes like this. Rs. 40,000 to buy a Nano car or Rs. 5 Lakh to buy a BMW car. Sounds smart ?? An elegant BMW or Nano picture on the brochure...
The Kuri coffers are registering huge pile up of cash. People are happily walking out with cash in hand and fulfilling their dreams.
